Ware-Butler Building Supply is seeking a Human Resources Manager, to be based in Waterville, ME with travel to store locations 2 to 3 days a week. The HR Manager will be a key member of the Ware-Butler leadership team and manage key HR functions and companywide initiatives for this growing retail lumber and manufacturing enterprise.


Requirements of the HR Manager:

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR management

·         Effective communication skills

·         Experience with HR software

·         Experience with mergers/acquisitions a plus

·         Experience with Paychex payroll and HR software a plus

·         Experience with CDL, DOT compliance and safety compliance a plus

·         Business management, operations, and retail experience a plus

Benefits of the Job:


·         Annual pay in the range of $85,000 to $105,000

Responsibilities of the HR Manager:

·         Manage HR functions within a growing retail lumber and manufacturing enterprise

·         Communicate company-wide initiatives including policies, procedures, and employee benefits

·         Foster company culture and educate employees of that culture

·         Review, modify, suggest, and monitor company policies and employee handbook

·         Recruit, hire, and ensure training of new employees including achieving recruiting and retention initiatives

·         Travel to all locations statewide and work with all business functions

·         Management of workers compensation and safety programs including first reporting, claim management and return to work

·         Manage all company leave programs including FMLA

·         Educate new hires and existing employees about employee benefit options and manage enrollments

·         Ensure company legal compliance with DOL and other employment related issues

·         Oversight and implementation/execution of performance review

·         Supervise HR Generalist
