Talent and Employee Relations Specialist

Job Summary:

 The Talent and Employee Relations Specialist will have a general understanding of all areas of the Talent Management Department and work closely with the Director of Talent Management. The Talent and Employee Relations Specialist executes the payroll process, administers the benefits program and helps with the implementation of services, policies, and programs aimed at maintaining a safe, positive environment in the company, as well as the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce assisting managers with HR issues.

 Essential Job Functions:

  •  Bi-weekly processing of payroll, compensation, benefits administration, and recordkeeping
  • Assists with recruiting, interviewing and all staffing logistics
  • Performance management and improvement tracking systems
  • Assists with employee onboarding, orientation, development, and support of training logistics and training program development
  • Employee relations including company-wide communications
  • Employee Engagement Survey administration and program management
  • Company-wide committee facilitation
  • Lead Employee Recognition program
  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting
  • HR filing system and management of the human resource policy
  • Manage all leave policies, providing documentation and explanation to employees and managers regarding leave guidelines
  • File and coordinate workers’ compensation claims with third-party administrator
  • Supports and oversees the ergonomics program including documenting and providing education and resources
  • Support and process required benefits and payroll filings within regulations and in an accurate and timely fashion (i.e. MWR, EEO-1, AAP, 401k, W-2s, unemployment data, garnishments, payroll tax etc.)
  • Run reports for audits of payroll, benefits, 401k, workers comp and/or other HR programs

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required experience is required
  • Familiarity with HRIS system functionality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple tasks
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must exhibits a superior level of confidentiality and empathy when dealing with sensitive information regarding financial data and employment information

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • A minimum of three years of human resource experience and/or payroll and benefits required
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired

Working Conditions:

  • Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable
  • Normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis
