Membership Committee

Kendra Wentworth and Jennifer Horton – VPs Membership

This committee serves as an important contact with members and interested people, providing information about HRASM, how to join, and the upcoming events members should attend. The Membership Committee reviews new applications and then appropriate applicants are recommended to the Board for approval. Each new member, after approval, is sent a welcoming email with payment, meeting schedule and membership directory information. For meetings and events, the Committee compiles a list of attendees and distributes nametags at the beginning of each meeting. As each calendar year approaches, the Membership Committee coordinates the re-enrollment of members, collection of yearly dues, and creates a new membership directory.

Diversity Committee

Jennifer Simpson – VP Diversity
This Committee seeks new ways to involve members in diversity issues to provide education and exposure to the wide range of diversity issues that HR professionals face every day. The Committee makes suggestions about diversity programs, and keeps abreast of opportunities to involve members in new initiatives. New members are always welcome. Please visit the Diversity Initiatives section to learn more about activities that are underway.

Program Committee

Barbara Babkirk  – VP of Programs and Tara Marquis – Committee Member

The committee serves as the “creator” of each program offered to the membership and is responsible for seeking out and confirming a variety of educational, stimulating and entertaining Human Resource related presentations/speakers for the Association’s monthly meetings. Committee members meet 4-6 times annually to discuss upcoming program topics and presenters. Outlines are requested by sponsoring committee members and presented to the committee for discussion. The sponsoring member is then responsible for contacting presenters, etc. This is a great opportunity to be part of an exciting committee and contribute to the success of the HRASM. We welcome anyone interested in developing enlightening and interesting program choices for the membership!
